Course Description: This course will educate attendees on the anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic and vascular systems and the most recent evidence-based treatment options for chronic edema.  The course will help attendees recognize and differentiate between early signs and symptoms of venous insufficiency, lymphedema, and lipedema. In addition, attendees will gain a better understanding and insight into implications of cancer treatment and lymphedema including head and neck. Included is a lab portion for hands on experience with the Flexitouch®, an advanced pneumatic compression device used in the home to effectively manage chronic edema.
 

Who should attend: Recommended for physical therapists and assistants, occupational therapists and assistants, Speech Language Pathologists, physicians, nurses, or any other health care provider wanting to learn more about the management of chronic edema.

Accreditation: CEU: Tactile Medical will be providing 7 CEUs for continuing education for Minnesota PT by MBPT, North Dakota PT by NDBPT, North Dakota SLP by  NDSBE, Wisconsin PT by WPTA, Iowa and North Dakota nursing by IBON #22 DMACC . This activity has been designed to meet the Minnesota Board of OT, SLP and nursing, Iowa SLP, Wisconsin OT, South Dakota PT and OT, and North Dakota OT continuing education requirements however, the practitioner is responsible for determining whether this activity meets their respective board requirements for acceptable continuing education.
